303 Magazine kicked off spring during three days of fashion during Denver Fashion Weekend (DFW). The first night kicked off with street fashion showcasing styles from Inky Ink, Geniuz, Shop Zoe Life, Fox and Ducati. The second night was also dedicated to fashion with a mix of national and local brands. The last night was a hair show featuring local and national stylists and salons.
Although I would have like to have attended all of the shows, Danni and I decided on the Saturday night to check out Denver’s debut of Amsterdam brand, Scotch and Soda.
Local designer Mona Lucero kicked off the show with a very vintage vibe. Full skirts with netting, fishnet stockings/socks made these seemingly innocent looks naughty. Mona Lucero was one of my favorites of the night and could see myself in a couple of her pieces.
Rachel Marie Hurst showcased very feminine dresses. Several of the pieces were low-cut backs and cut outs, a favorite style of Taylor Swift.
Whorl closed out the first segment rocking the runway with graphic tops, legging, and shorts. Simplistic designs also were a prominent theme in her designs with shift dresses and jersey shorts.
Scotch & Soda closed out the show with fun casual styles for women and men. Skinny jeans, shorts, rompers and strappy sandals dominated the runway for women. The menswear line featured vests, sports jackets, jeans, shorts, graphic tees, polka dots shirts and a sorted array of loafers. The looks were casual, and showcased some of the latest fashion styles and colors for spring.
